Last Thursday, 19 June we held a research seminar for postdoctoral students in English Studies. Participants included some of our PhD candidates from English Studies and a MA student from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, who is currently doing a research stay at the University of Lleida. The postgraduate students, who were at different stages in the doctoral process, explained their research and shared some of the lessons learnt while researching for and writing their dissertations. After the presentations, a discussion was held, in which the organizing committee and other lecturers in the audience from our Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures posed questions to the students and made comments to their research approaches. A very fruitful debate ensued, in which points in common were established among the different disciplines. Looking forward to hosting a new edition of the Research Seminar next year to promote networking among our brilliant PhD students!
